Lidl Sponsor Leisure Wear

Porthcawl RFC are delighted to have Lidl on board as its leisure wear sponsor this season. The collaboration will mean that the Lidl logo will take pride of place on our Senior squad’s pre-match Hoodies, Training T-Shirts, Leisure Shorts, Vests and Tracksuits.

Chairman Mr Cliff Hopkins said “After gaining promotion last season to Division 3 West Central A,  as a Club we were keen to invest further in our players. It’s vital for grass roots clubs to have the support and investment from local businesses to be able to do this. We were thrilled to hear such a large and exciting organisation wanted to invest in us. It is hugely rewarding to work in partnership with a company which also has a mind for community involvement.”

Neil Bevan, Regional Distribution Manager for Lidl said  “We are delighted to be able to support Porthcawl RFC in this way. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate our company’s commitment to economic development and supporting the local community. It’s clear to see they are an ambitious club having gained promotion last season. Our involvement with Porthcawl RFC helps us to understand the needs of the community and strengthens our links with them.”

Team Manager, Ian McDonald said “There is a real sense of something special happening at South Road. There’s a good atmosphere around the Club. Everyone’s enjoying themselves and we’ve got some depth in our playing squad.  Attracting new sponsors such as Lidl is vital for the long-term development of our Club and sporting community.

Porthcawl RFC are continue to do well in the league. They  are  also through to the last eight of the Glamorgan County Silver Ball competition as well as getting through to the Quarter Final of the WRU National Bowl following their 29-0 win over Newport Saracens RFC. Porthcawl will now face Penygraig RFC in the Quarter Final which will be played on Saturday 10th March
